I use 35mm film cameras (you'll usually see me use at least two during our session!). I send the rolls of film to a professional lab for development and scanning. The lab sends me high-resolution scans, which I edit (color correction, cropping, etc). I then deliver the edited, high-res files to you via an online gallery.
3 weeks, with sneak peeks within a week if your package includes digital photos.
I recommend booking at least two weeks in advance to allow us time to coordinate location, styling, etc. If you'd like to book a session ASAP, reach out and let's chat!
Aesthetically, the biggest difference is that film has a softer look and beautiful, nostalgic grain, whereas digital tends to be a bit more crisp and true-to-life.
You'll get slightly more images in your gallery with digital, and I'm also able to send sneak peeks a few days after our session, whereas with film we have to wait a couple weeks to get the scans back from the lab.
There's no right or wrong choice between digital and film! If you're unsure which is the best fit for you and your family, reach out and I'll help you decide!
I love Polaroids, and have used them to document my life for many years. They're just fun! For my clients, I love that they give you something to take home and put up on your fridge right away.
My approach to photography is laid back, calm, and intentional. I'll guide you and your family when you need it, and step back and observe when the authentic moments happen. And I promise they will, no matter how awkward you might think you are in front of a camera, or how wild your toddler is, or how fussy your newborn. I've seen it, I've been there, and I'll lead you through it!
