I met the Kinnes at their home in Littleton, MA on a sunny day in late May. Their daughter, Grace, was just six weeks old, a snoozy, happy newborn, and their son, Beau, was (and is!) a delightful, rambunctious toddler. We started the session in the nursery, which had gorgeous light streaming in from the window behind the recliner. I pulled the recliner out a bit so we could really catch the light, and then I stepped back and let them be. Beau read some books and played with his dad, Tucker, while Grace fed and watched from her mom’s lap.

Then we headed outside to their backyard. Beau and his mom, Hayley, had a dance party and played on the slide, and they all stopped to watch when the train went by on the tracks right behind their house– Beau’s favorite! Tiny Grace dozed off in the sunlight while her brother played, and we all took a short walk down the street to see if the neighbor’s horses were out. I mostly shot film outside because all the sunshine was perfect for it!

We finished up our session back inside, with some shots of Hayley and Grace snuggling in bed and all four of them on their living room couch. At this point Beau was a little over the paparazzi, so Tucker got him his favorite snack (a yogurt pouch :]) and he had a little break. Then I asked him to help me take a picture of his parents and sister, which he thought was a blast, and suddenly he wanted to be in front of the camera again! I got a few pictures of all four of them laughing and snuggling to end our session. Beau had so much fun that he was trying to block their back door to keep me from leaving– such a sweetheart! These photos were all captured on digital due to the more limited light in these rooms. Including both digital and film in their session meant that the Kinnes were able to get the best that both medium offers– film’s strength in strong light and digital’s flexibility!

These guys were a blast and have also been such great supporters of me and my little business in these early days of Rebecca Sierra Photography. I’m so grateful and can’t wait to capture more memories for them in the future!
